Surprisingly I had a JTE request this worksheet from me today, so I guess that means it's good? It's designed for lower level high school students but you might be able to do with high level junior high students as well.
There are 3 goals to this bingo sheet:
- learning what a hobby is (ie: not sleeping)
- practicing "Do you like to __________________?" "Yes I do/No I don't"
- practicing "How often do you __________________?" "I ______________ once a month." etc
Worksheet Procedure:
- Hand out worksheet. Go over any vocab they might not know.
- Students will go around the room asking classmates "Do you like to __________________?"
- If the classmate says no, the student asks a new question.
- If the classmate says yes, the student writes down the classmate's name. The student then asks, "How often do you (whatever the classmate just said yes to)?" The classmate answers and the student writes "once a month" "twice a week" "three times a day" etc on the line.
- First student to get bingo wins!
It's helpful to draw an example box on the board and have you and the JTE go through the procedure together so the students get what's going on.
