re entry permit application documents

hey, i'm gonna swing by the office in otsu tomorrow and apply for some re-entry permits.  is it okay if i don't bring dan's foreign id card with me?  and just bring the number(s) from the card or do they need to witness the physical card?  wierd question, but maybe some other spouses out there have already done this.

To apply for a re-entry permit you MUST bring the applicant's passport and alien registration card.

On that website you can also download the application form - if you can print it and fill it in before going to the office it will save you quite some time.

Also, remember to get the stamps to pay for the permit   :o)
